Well, tcpdump is not pushing anything to the Terminal window, nor
to a
capture file. What are those other tools you were suggesting? I'm
on an
Intel Mac,
I'd user Ethereal, since this app is able to assemble partial packets
and 'decrypt' various protocols.
Ethereal is a good choice. It's now called WireShark, and you can
compile it using DarwinPorts. There is also the SharkLauncher tool
that makes it easy to launch with X11. It's pretty handy, but it may
take a bit of time to compile. There may be a package somewhere, but
I didn't find one the last time I installed it.
