The TCP proxy will be GPL because uses a GPL library, but not the application that uses a GPL proxy comunicating with it with simple protocol commands. And like the GPL license says, it's possible to put a GPL licenced program with a commercial program, provided that you follow some guidelines (like to show that the commercial program could use any different program, and not specifically the GPL one).
