In the next few days(before they shut down the list) why dont you and
Joe think of ways to put together the list under any of the above domains.

I will be more then happy to donate them to the community.* No strings
attached. I have not been here long but I have benefited tremendously
from the INSTANT answers that just come to my phone or my desktop email
clients.
I can not see the benefit RS see's as its totally indispensable for me
to have access through email and be able to respond through email.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] This list meets all of the criteria
suggested by Joe Strout except the consensus part: I had already paid
to set up the list before I saw that e-mail.
Why do you have to pay to set up a list? If we decide we need several
lists (e.g. games, getting-started, and general), will you have to pay
again?
Yes. That's why they are willing to put up with bandwidth and CPU
requirements.
But it was consensus that brought everyone the Open Source Listbox...
Heh, true, there are occasionally times for decisive action. However,
setting up a mailing list is a lot easier than rewriting the listbox
(right up there with "I'll write my own EditField!" on the list of
frequently underestimated projects). The important thing here is that
we as a community have a single place to go, rather than splitting off
in several directions, and that we all be comfortable sticking around
there for the long haul.
But, you certainly get points for speedy response. Maybe we should
continue this discussion there. I'll go sign up now.
Perhaps my list will be a interim solution. We can always refactor.
