I think this is terrible idea, and the list is one reason I remain a
customer of REAL Software. I've already found a hard time keeping my
update plan paid for since the IDE has become more and more unstable,
and finding that Xcode is fitting most of my needs nicely. I've only
kept REALbasic for the cross-platform features. I feel it is a
powerful tool and lend my talents to other users on the NUG and beta
test your products as well, and I frequently try to give back to this
community that gave me so much help getting started.
I will not be following the NUG to the forums. I believe the number
of experienced users lost because of this move will detriment the
REALbasic community as a whole. Most of your experienced users choose
the NUG over the forum. To improve the community, you should link the
NUG and forum together, it's not very difficult, I've done it myself
for another developer.

We are finding that there is a lot of duplication occurring between
our Mailing Lists and our Forums. As a result, some people are
having difficulty finding answers to their questions since
information is stored in so many places. REAL Software has decided
to consolidate the NUG with the online Forums. On Monday, February
12, 2007, the NUG and other mailing lists will no longer be
active. We encourage you to continue your REALbasic and REAL SQL
Server discussions on the Forums.
If you are not presently a member of the forum, please sign up
today at http://forums.realsoftware.com! It’s free to join and
there are lots of topic areas for discussion, like Getting Started,
Databases, Games, etc. We also have platform-specific areas where
you can ask questions or start discussions relative to your platform.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We understand
that some people prefer an email-based mailing list to an online
forum. However, we feel that consolidating our lists into the
online Forum is the best option for the community.
Thank you for your support.
