There is already a command line program that will do what I want
located at /usr/bin/xgrid, but it is not event driven. In order to
poll the progress of a task, I need to physically poll the progress
of a task. The framework is completely event driven, and the Xgrid
Controller will send a message to any connected client when
properties change.
