Ah! What a good night's sleep can do for a man...
The composite flag of the Window that has the EditField makes
all the difference. With the flag set, the blinking cursor
disappears on each key press. With the flag *unset*, all is well.
This sucks, though. The Composite flag allows me to position a
TabPanel right under a ToolBar. With the Composite flag unset,
the TabPanel has an invisible 'border' that eats a piece from the
ToolBar (above the tabs).
I guess the alternative would be to use a PagePanel instead, and
create the tabs myself with canvases?
Lot of work though. Bummer!
I always wondered why the composite property makes things not
functioning and what this property concerns, specifically.
Like in your problem, where you can't neither use composite=true
nor false; it seems this is a non-working property, right?
No, the property is working alright. It's just that it has the side
effect of the disappearing EditField cursor.
Thanks.
This side effect (among others) is what I was referring to. Just
using the composite property makes the cursor of an editfield
disapearing or some controls get drawn incorrectly (as I'm using
RB5.5, the composite property makes many things incorrect). So I
wonder what is concerned about the composite property._______________________________________________
