As other people have explained, there are ways of getting around the current limitations that eSellerate has imposed. My solution was to dump the eSellerate plugin and go with a custom serial number generation. This way I have cross platform compatibility without all the hassles that other people have described in building their application. So I use the use the eSellerate infrastructure to deliver the serial numbers via a web store and I use custom serial number verification with RB code (no eSellerate plugin). There are pros and cons to each method described and you will have to weigh them carefully to see which approach is best for you. From my point of view, custom serial number generation was the best approach.
