With the ability to drag Search Results off to a separate window, this is very useful on a multiple monitor setup and I often end up with several Search Results windows.
However, when I double-click an item in the Search Results list, if the target is not already open, its tab is opened in the Search Results window. This is very frustrating as I have a nice slim Search Results window and then it becomes an editing context! If the Search Results are in a window by themself, it is most likely people want it that way so I think it would be very useful if the newly opened tab were to be in the "main" editing window, defined as being the one with the App tab. That would be a more consistent experience - search results targetting tabs that are already open will go elsewhere.
