Karen, if you are getting changes on CTS then there is some handshaking trying to happen. Even with CTS handshaking supposedly disabled. Check that the plug is wired correctly. Especially check that the instrument is a DCE (data comms equipment), because TxD and RxD (pin 3 and 2) are reversed in a DTE (data terminal equipment). I have not used the serial control on Win2K recently (I do Mac only these days) but the last time I used it (on XP) I had no hassles. Check that the COM port number is set correctly in RB.
