WordGuise plugin version 4 is available for downloading. This plugin defines an Editfield for Mac and Windows that provides the ability to:
** soft wrap text ** printing text and images ** implement contextual menus ** set the super or subscript of characters in addition to other styles ** use tabs with user defined indentation ** use hanging, first and last indents to layout paragraphs ** undo and redo multiple keystrokes, cutting and pasting ** create a text editor with the build-in ruler ** load, parse and save rtf files ** embed images There are more features, but the above should allow potential users to compare this plugin "Word Graphical User Interface Smart Editor" against other editfield resources available to the REALbasic community. The plugin comes in a trial and licensed version. Both flavors have the same capabilities, and thus the trial/demo version will allow a careful evaluation of this plugin. This is possible because you can use the plugin in your existing projects, adapt it to your needs. To help you in this evaluation, the plugin comes with a bunch of sample projects showing particular features of WordGuise. There is a catch though when it comes to MacOSX: We provide a WordGuiseEx plugin that "Ex", extends the MacOSX target to provide Unicode support, contrary to worldscript support (WASTE 2.1) that comes with WordGuise. Kind of complicated, but there is an additional fee associated, that will be split 20/80 with the author of the WASTE 3 engine. It is possible that you would favor WordGuiseEx when Apple will not support worldscript and/or quickdraw in future versions of the OS. A long awaited release (at least for current users): Version 4 of WordGuise Version notes for this release: [fix]: Mousewheel response reinstated after it got broken when 3.5 came out. [fix]: MacOS X Intel: numerous compiler flags in the Waste 2.1 engine have been reviewed to allow proper compiling for the Mac intel platform. [fix/improvement]: Windows: Ruler support ! matches ruler support on the mac. [fix]: Windows: WordGuiseTabItem fields have now default values, previously, these fields needed to be populated to allow proper tabbing offsets. [fix/new]: Rulers, introduced in version 3.5 as alpha, have reached beta stage. [new]: WordGuise.RulerType as Integer will set the unit measurement as inches, centimeters, points or picas. [new]: WordGuise.NoTa! bzoneWidth sets the distance from left and right text edges where tabs are disallowed. [new]: WordGuise.RulerDiscrete allows for indicators to move in determined, discrete amounts. [new]: A RulerAndTabs sample showing how to set tabs in code, in addition to setting tabs using the ruler. [new]: WordGuise.RefreshRuler forces the ruler to be redrawn. Note that the plugin will carry out most of the redrawing, but there may be cases that RefreshRuler is handy. http://homepage.mac.com/vanhoek/ _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
