That's not an ASCII value; ASCII values range from 0-127 only.

That'll do it on a Mac, at least as long as Apple continues to support
MacRoman (which at this point is a legacy encoding).  It is not likely
to work on other platforms, though.  A better way is to use the Unicode
character, Encodings.UTF8.Chr(&hB0).  Or, even simpler, just type it
right into the code editor or property where you want it, i.e. "°". 
REALbasic is fully Unicode-savvy; there's no reason not to type pretty
much any character that exists anyplace you can type in RB.
