My app uses TAPI to place calls on a Cisco "Call Manager Express" phone
system. After working with the Cisco TAPI drivers I discovered that it
doesn't talk to the phone on your desk to make calls, it talks to the phone
system instead. That's the socket that I wrote about. The phone system (a
Cisco 2821 router) then makes the call and makes a voice channel connection
back to your phone. I tried running the app and putting the machine in
hibernate mode. When it "woke up", the app still seemed to be running
correctly, but the connection to the server (the 2821 router) was lost.
