If you're using a Mac, the Star receipt printers have Mac drivers and can kick the cash drawer after printing if configured to do so in the printer setup. Barcode scanners and credit card swipes don't require any special coding, the system basically sees them as a keyboard. You just need to capture and process the output. Pole Displays can be connected via a USB-Serial adapter and sent serial commands using RB's serial comm classes. Hope this helps, Dax PS. We build a Mac POS if you decide on a non-custom option: www.xsilva.com > Initially, we just need some receipt printing and cash drawer opening. > The computer that will be used will be either an old 400 Mhz iMac with > Mac OS X 10.2 or 10.3, or some old 400 Mhz Pentium III PCs running > Fedora Core. > > Thanks, > > Ryan Dary > _______________________________________________ > Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: > <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> > > Search the archives: > <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html> _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
