Hi Jim

What everyone implied but no one explicitly said is that the date 
class gives the hour value in 24 hour format by default.

Per the Language reference for Date.Hour, "The hour number of the 
time portion of the date, using a 24-hour clock."

So basically you can just take date.hour, date.minute and date.second 
and format them however you prefer. Steve Garman gave a good example 
of how to do that.
