I completely agree with you, however the Sound class can only be instantiated with this format on the Mac (sic!). Sound = FolderItem.OpenAsSound require a System 7 sound on the Mac and a WAV file on Windows. I'd be happy to use an alternative format, if possible. > If you can give me any more hints, maybe I can track it down for you. > I searched through my folder of all those old articles and couldn't > find anything like you describe, but I don't have an index of what's > in there anymore. Here it's an old message on the NUG where you provide a link: http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/realbasic-nug/2003-03/ msg03137.html The link is: http://www.resexcellence.com/realbasic/10-25-01.shtml but it's no longer accessible. A search on web.archive.org revealed the page (http://web.archive.org/ web/20031008210922/www.resexcellence.com/realbasic/10-25-01.shtml) but the class archive is not available (http://www.resexcellence.com/ realbasic/downloads_01/phonetoneclass.sit) If you can find it again, this would save me the work to rebuild it using the Apple documentation. Thank you.
