As to your question, the MH_BUNDLE format from all I can tell has
been there since NeXT days, and should work back as far as RB goes.
If a developer does not do this they suffer longer load times but
can still work on OS X versions < 10.3 (all 10.1 and 10.2) ?
Just trying to understand the pros / cons of this and the
implications
As I stated above, the format we're suggesting works in all versions.
There are no cons I can tell, except for a separate build phase for
the PPC only plugin vs. the universal plugin (because the PPC plugin
part needs to be compatible with r3 and prior).
Frank was pointing out that there is a crash on quit on 10.2, or more
specifically exceptions crash on 10.2 when building universal. It has
nothing to do with plugin formats.
