Hi all, I have been using RB since it was v2.1.2 but it has been primarily for database apps and some prepress utilities. I have long had an interest in using it with hardware. I have a need to monitor how many times a reed switch connected to the computer somehow opens and closes in a given interval of time. I was hoping that somebody could help me out with how to get started doing something like this. Possibly some reading or sample code etc. I can solder up cables and do what ever is needed on that end but am not sure what is needed to try to communicate or receive the data from the reed switch.
