Re: Japan Further Open Up Door to Foreigners ------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe this “Newsletter Japan!” >> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newsletter_japan_readers/?yguid=212093707 ------------------------------------------------------------------- The Japanese government is planning to ease up the immigration policy to accept foreign workers more into Japanese market. This is under consideration due to diminishing population that leads to decline of economy of the country. In fact Japan has been in a negotiation stage with Philippines, and has already come to an agreement to accept more expertises such as registered nurses and care workers etc. from Philippines. This should be the 1st example to open up the door to those expertises in the other area. Besides, extension of terms of residence, ease the conditions of permanent residence and even accepting such workers of low expertise categories will also be considered. This is a part of “the grand planning of Japanese immigration policy” towards 2010 from 2005. I think this is good news for you, who are seeking new opportunities in Japan. I will update you as details are determined and released! Re: Deportation Order Plan As effective from Dec. 2 ’04 the immigration law has been amended newly introducing “Deportation Order Plan” in order to improve increase of illegal stay of foreigners in Japan. With this new plan those foreigners who are illegally staying in Japan are encouraged to appear oneself to the immigration bureau. Of course they will be order to departure Japan, but reentry permission will be much earlier given “only after 1 year” since the departure date. Usually those who were forced to deport are prohibited reenter Japan for 5 or 10 years long. This is applicable to those who: - wish to go back to home country as early as possible - are not in the position to be ordered for deportation due to any other reason but only to illegal stay - do not have such criminal records of larceny etc. resulted in penalty of imprisonment - have never received deportation orders in the past - can afford have air tickets etc. to go back If someone have not yet utilized this new plan and still illegally staying in Japan, I would recommend taking up this opportunity…. Then, you will have another chance to get a new visa in legitimate manner only 1 year later.
