The U$ Dollar is at its all time record lows.... http://www.gocurrency.com/v2/dorate.php?inV=&from=USD&to=BRL&Calculate=Convert
What does that mean to the international business world & Brazil that has been based on this currency since the last century? Most are offloading this cash as fast as they can. Some are buying huge amounts. Well, in first place we are going to see imports of all sorts of outside of Brazil undermining the absurd taxes that are in place to protect its own economy. Most of exports from Brazil will start failing which is a minimum of 25% of the gross national profit. Luxury goods (airplanes, helicopters, cars, motorcycles, boats and electronics ) will be flooding the country and as the high class society shifts from exports and producing goods & services they will be entering more and more so into capital markets. Thus, the possibility of mortgage rates reductions which will in turn create the outflow of foreign capital investments (those who invested in the numbers games of loans and savings for example) in that business but create a higher percentage of middle class in the population. Lower mortgage rates mean lower interest rates on savings as well to compensate the markets. So, this does not mean necessarily that in this market situation you cannot make good profits but rather that you should shift from the dollar for the time being (unless you have resources to buy it up in very large quantities and expect terms of 5 years i bet ) and invest offshore if you are in the North America region part of the world. Nonetheless, the traditional markets of real estate and energy besides the import will skyrocket as there are an increasing number of people who are becoming middle class, the mortgages rates are dropping (Santa Ander offers currently 9% with some terms ), more and more cars are being produced and may I add energy efficient cars such as ethanol and biodiesel cars (all sorts of farming is going quite well so the sugar cane farms & biodiesel are already a good investment) , foreign investments along the coast of Northeast Brazil are surging through the roof in leisure golf & residential beach developments (my honest personal opinnion this will last for a decade at least since the Northeast of Brazil has only been a new destination for the last 3 or 4 years and the coast is still very undeveloped when comparing it to American and European standards) ! As far as stocks and bonds are concerned you can feel safe and comfortable investing in the areas described. If you are no-risk taker in the next 24-36 months it ok to assume that savings interest will make you over 10% on savings over U$D350,000. If you think about it, for U$35.000 or R$65,000 you can easily have high class life style annually. That is another reason why Brazil is such a popular turist and retirement location. Conclusion: Market is fluctuating quite a bit but in these times of uncertainty and unstability, especially in undeveloped countries is a good time to take advantage of the situation, get in and get out at the right moment and make the HIGHEST PROFITS ! This goes as a great point of interest mostly for American and Brazilian investors. The Americans can quickly put large amounts of cash for 24 - maximum of 36 month terms and reinjected right back into the home economy to stabilize the situation. Thus, this definitely will not last forever. My predictions are that the U$DOLLAR will not fall much more than to R$1.70 and the entire process of going back up to R$2.30 - R$ 2.40 should not take more than 3-4 years. Imports would be a very strong suggestion to consider. Setting up companies in Brazil and obtaining a permanent residence based on our available programs takes three to four months. Running concurrent to this time we can do market research and due dilligence. Real Estate is definitely the most solid option as for the mid term and long term investments where it is a perfect idea to do coastal developments and then shift the profits into commercial real estate mostly in office rental business as well as construction of industry, shopping malls (as the Brazilians are having increased buying power right now), gas stations and so forth. Everyone is seeing enormous amounts of pension funds being invested here in those subjects mentioned above as well as real estate funds springing up all over Brazil. This is also the time where we are seeing many Brazilians investing in real estate and especially the foreclosures market and doing a bit of traveling to the USA. I personally and primarily do real estate in Brazil and some investment consulting outside of this sector but we have competent partners that could lead you safely into the other types of ventures.
