If you're using Internet Explorer on the Mac - I believe this is true.
Plugin-browser-scripting communication in that suite of browsers is
entirely stupid. I say this based on reading and experience with the
various versions of Flash and Shockwave.

Were you testing in IE or Navigator (or maybe something else?)
