plug-in detection

Subject: plug-in detection

Upon entering a website, I would like to check my users'
browsers/systems to see if they have RealPlayer installed, and work on
IE and Netscape. Has anyone does this that could share? I heard checking
the MIME type instead of the name of the plug-in is the best way to go
(audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin).

Any help is greatly appreciated.
