I'm not entirely sure what you mean (it's 11pm & I'm tired; that could be
why...) but if you embed the presentation using JavaScript, call the clip
'mplayer', wouldn't...

<A name="play" onClick="document.mplayer.DoPlay()">Play</A>

work, getting rid of nasty form buttons and replacing with nice formattable
anchors?

But I don't think that's what you mean.

I don't think either that you can pass an object from JavaScript to VBS,
though.

Here's the source from RealPlayer's Extended Functionality guide of an
example embedded clip using JavaScript. If you like, replace their nasty,
nasty form buttons with my code. The files 'animate.swf' and 'demo.rpm' are
attached - copy into a folder with the HTML and view in IE. It works in IE 3
or above, so make sure you've got IE 3.

If you want the DHTML .js file for an idea how I did it, e-mail me something
with DHTML JS in the subject line or something...

This example embeds a Shockwave Flash file in a Web page
and uses a simple form to provide Play, Pause, and Stop buttons.
The buttons link to the display through JavaScript. This example
plays in either Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
