I got the batch jpegtrans to work in rp calculator by putting the directory
that contains the source jpegs at the top level of my disk, eg:
C:\myjpegs\

If the directory is too far down, for example,
C:\RealStuff\NewStuff\HotStuff\Images\myjpegs\ , it errors out because the
path is too long (for the parameter in the call to the DOS program?)

The batch jpegtrans in rp calculator will create a new subdirectory for you,
called new_images, in the directory your jpegs are in. The translated jpegs
will be in the subdirectory.

They will look the same, but will be optimized to better tolerate lost
packets during transmission.
