Subject: Slow bitrate problems with Real Encoder / Osprey 100 under NT 4.0

Hello,

I have a puzzling problem. A dual 450 Mhz Pentium III machine that a
few months ago had no problem encoding Real Video at a normal bitrate
(we were recording for 56k modem users, which resulted in about a 6fps
rate at 320 x 240 with audio) has suddenly become unable to encode
faster than a 2 fps rate.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong? Compatibility or
driver issues I should know about?
The current low bitrate is unusable. The machine cheaks out okay in
every respect except this one..

The operating system is NT 4.0, the machine a VA Research dual PIII.

Also, I'm curious, what are peoples experiences encoding, and the
various encoding options under Linux? We havn't had as much luck as we'd
like with the various Linux players.

Thank you.
