I have been trying to insert events into a live stream without much luck.
I have included an absolute path top my events directory in my rmserver.cfg
file. Just to cover all bases, I have included the AssociatedMediaPath Var
in both the G2 and Pre-G2 blocks of the File Systems attributes in
rmserver.cfg
In the events directory I have an event file with the same name as my live
stream. The events file was generated by using the rmevents -dump option on
a known good .rm file. The known good .rm file, when played, walks my
browser through three different URLs. My events file has been saved without
a file extension.
I am using the free edition G2 Basic Server and free edition G2 Producer.
Does anyone have any experience with live events to notice what I might have
missed? Are the free-ware versions of the server and producer capable of
inserting events into a live stream? Should I have a specific file extension
on my events file? Should my events file be a text file or do I have to
author it as a SMIL file? Should my AssociatedMediaPath value be a relative
path based on the Content mount point? I've tried many different
permutations of the above, re-booted, and re-started with no success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
