Well, I have recently purchased a Cannon optura DV
camera. Excellent. i love it. I have thus, been
looking into getting a DV card so that I can do
firewire in/out vis IEEE1394 (*the camera comes with
an S-Video out connection and cable) This allows you
to port stills and video to the PC, providing htat you
first have a capture card (*I hav an Avermedia TVFM
98..which is so/so). The DV cards I ahve looked into
are the DV Raptor by Canopus (*approx $550) and the
Pinnacle DV300(*approx$400). Both come bundled with
Adobe premiere 5.1 and proprietary drivers. I have
heard mixed things about the Pinnacles compatability
with certain hardware, but for hte extra $100, the
Raptor is supposed to be a star.
