It sounds like you don't want to make one file, but want to play the several
selected files in sequence.  You can generate smil and .ram files on the fly
with cgi.  Use CGI to have the user's selections generate:

a) a .ram file that lists the rtsp:// URLs for the selected videos in
sequence.  They will play one after the other; OR

b) a SMIL file that lists the desired rtsp:// urls within a SEQ block.
