You are absolutely right re 5.0 vs g2 users

If you are mac based the best tool I know of for you will be Adobe 
Premiere. It will allow you to add fx as well as everything else.
It sends the stream as a video clip - so if  depending on which encoder you 
have (5.0 is better for this) drop your vid frame rate
to 4 or 5k and encode your audio at 16k (total stream 20 - 21k great for 28.8)
