the problem is with real: they do not support RTP delivery for their
mediatypes. i havent looked into it deeper but essentially the real
server rejects RTP as a transport for realmedia (RM) content. real
considers RDT inherent to their streaming mechanism. from discussions
on other lists, i take it that real has no plans to support RTP for
realmedia delivery. i have not tried streaming say MPEG through real,
to see if a player request for RTP is honored by the server, but i
would guess that any format that is implemented/delivered as a real
datatype will be delivered only through RDT. quicktime i believe
fully supports RTSP/RTP.
