I did grab that ActiveX control and I think that may be the best (most 
flexable) way.  I also did find that the older versions of realencoder (3.0) 
have command line options.  You can specify an input WAV file and and output 
RA file.  There is also something about a config file, but I don't have much 
info on it.

I will look into this option also, but the only problem with this is that it 
leaves encoder instance open after the encoding is complete.  I want to 
write some "watchdog" program that looks for a wav file to be dropped into a 
directory... and if one is there...encode and FTP it off somewhere.  I was 
hoping with some simple batch scripting, a scheduler, and a command line 
encoder I could do it all.  I will play around with it.  I'll let you know 
what I find to be the best.
