Subject: Re: Playing SMIL files locally (CD-ROM)
Damon,
We have moved away from .ram to .smil for the very reason that with smil we
don't need to use absolute names when running on Mac CD.
All my .smil files work great on the Mac. What the Mac does get hung up on
is when the smil file contains the routing ../
Avoid:
<smil>
<img src="../../images/image1.gif" region=""/>
</smil>
Place all files in the same directory as smil or a lower sub directory:
<smil>
<img src="images/image1.gif" region=""/>
</smil>
We still need to create absolute links if we were to use .ram What we do is
add the name of our temporary partition to the beginning of our absolute
file (this example the partition is called "Mac")
file:///Mac/mycourse/module1/media/file.rm and this works fine.
