Subject: Re: date code in Sound Forge

Folks, a little while ago I asked what a particular code was for batch
conversion (WAV to RealG2) in Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge. This code would
take whatever today's date was (determined by the Windows' clock) and place
it where the code was in the clip summary info for RealPlayer. (i.e.
Name/Title...Engineer...Copyright...etc etc).

After getting a "we have no idea" from one tech at SF there a few weeks ago
I happened to call SF tech support again on an unrelated issue and since
the tech seemed to know what he was talking about, I asked him as well.
Turns out he found it:

The code is:

$(date)

Apparently it only works in the SF batch converter (doesn't work in the
rest of SF).
I don't know if this is the same code for inside RealProducer, though...I'm
pretty sure it is but I don't have RealProducer on the machine I'm at right
now.

[ RF: Likewise, in the rmbatch tool only, you can specify $date and it will
substitute the date. ]
