use rmeditor -i <inputfile> -d <dumpfile>
then you have to get the duration info out of the top of the dump file.
To do this I would use something like PERL or TCL to search for the
following string:
----begin dump file---
...
duration: 645334 milliseconds
...
---- end dump file ---
The file is large and you should really only need to read the first 100
bytes or so of the file to search on. If you have any other tools for
searching for string in a text file and dicing that up then taht's the
way to go. The later part (searching for the duration in the top of the
file) would be very easy to do on UNIX just with a shell script but
unfortuantely the rmeditor is not available on any UNIX platforms at the
moment.
btw: it is also very easy to qeury this info using the RealProducer
ActiveX control or the RealPlayer interface to Javascript, VBScript or
ActiveX.
