I've been writing plugins for the RealSystem for about a year and a
half.
There are many little things like that that I've just picked up. A lot
of my knowledge comes from actually writing them. Some comes from
watching the way the RealMedia plugins behave. Some comes from the
people at Real.
I've played with about every interface in the SDK. Some are useful,
some are not (to me).
That one specifically, I don't really know. It was in the code when I
got here. (I actually wish that I never had to seek, it would make my
life a lot easier in many ways, MPEG isn't too friendly towards
seeking).
