Skype support on reX viewer is basically thin wrapper over Skype4com. You can
make Skype call from viewer by right-clicking an avatar which have a skype
address set. For actual calls the Skype application is used.

For setting your skype address please see more from
<viewer-location>/app_settings/skype.ini.

Subject: [realXtend] Re: enabling Skype

Yeah, I actually downloaded the latest Skype client for Windows and
had it up and running and was logged in before starting the REX server
and client. I was trying to avoid my earlier mistake with the Flash
Player and the browser. It may be another case of user error on my
part though. Just wanted to check if anyone had the functionality
working currently.

Ugh, I guess I'll have to download VisualStudio and use subversion to
access the source to see how the integration works. I did read that
there was a Skype integration with OpenSim a while back. I'm guessing
this may be part of that. I think it would be interesting to see what
other kinds of collaborative tools could be integrated in with virtual
worlds. Especially since some have APIs to their services like Skype
and others are FOSS like openmeetings.

Thanks though,

Yuzo
