Hi Paul 2 good questions: it sounds like your taiga installation goes to an empty MySQL database, while the 0.5 server uses the sqlite database.
About the bots: AFAIK they are based on meshes like an avatar, but i would have to check too how to asign the mesh to the avatar. I think there should be some descriptions on the realxtend website.
