Looks as Second Life is may be planning to address part of the problem described previously. This proposal<http://dwellonit.taterunino.net/2011/07/10/new-unannounced-second-life-parcel-privacy-option-in-development/> would prevent cameras from seeing avatars in a restricted space, but wouldn't necessarily protect IP on surfaces (lesson plans or quizzes on blackboards, fashion designs in stores, etc.)
