drawbacks of Rebol for OLPC: 1. unicode. I haven't worked with Rebol in years though I still follow the list in case there is anything that makes me want to take it back up, but I don't recall seeing that Rebol had added unicode support? Despite complaints Python actually has some pretty good libraries for Unicode.
benefits of Rebol: 1. since it is a first class language all the language constructs could essentially be rewritten for major languages in various countries areas. Probably a lot of the children that will get this product will not speak English.
