Well. I don't expect full Rebol/OS, like it was first talked about -
MagmaOS, back in times when Rebol was named LAVA :-) I am not sure if
underlying layer is decided already, but imo Linux makes sense. I really
do prefer QNX though, as its kernel is only 70 or so KB, it is totally
component based, but it is not free. Small Linux distros are already
available. That is not problem imo.

The problem is, - how to integrate Rebol properly? Remember past RT's
marketing machine, when IOS was everything and technology nothing?
(exagerrating here of course :-) Someone on AltME already doubted PR
claims of VitalNeeds - Rebol was the choice, because it uses fraction of
memory of other systems etc.? But really - what is the truth?

Rebol is not properly componentised, async kernel was postponed, not to
mention things like tasking/threading are not available at all. Language
extensions are not implemented, nor are View plug-ins, so those wanting
to speed up some things are stuck or left with libraries. Cross platform
VM would be nice. We also know, that Rebol is not always memory savy.
Yes, it takes some small amout of your storage, but such factor with
today's capacity is not problem at all - Rebol could be megabytes of
size. Memory consumption/efficiency is the problem though.

It will be really nice, if new oportunities (Vital Need/Risen World
cooperation), brings new requirements and RT will advance how they
technology work. Technology itself - the language - is excellent!

Cheers,
