Gabriele is right there is no TCP port. This is the output of the 
'mysqladmin version' command:

Server version 4.0.23_Debian-4-log
Protocol version 10
Connection Localhost via UNIX socket 
UNIX socket /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock 
Uptime: 6 hours 24 min 22 sec

Now I'll try to fix it
