Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate

Makes 8 servings

8 cups (1/2 gallon) milk
6 ounces white chocolate (Lindt or Baker preferred), chopped
1/3 cup crushed red and white candy canes
Pinch salt
1/2 cup peppermint schnapps, optional
Whipped cream
Additional red and white candy canes for use as stirrers (optional)

Procedure: Bring milk to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. Re duce heat to

medium low. Add chopped white chocolate, 1/3 cup candy and salt; whisk until

smooth. Add schnapps, if desired.

Presentation: Ladle hot chocolate into mugs, dividing equally. Top with

whipped cream and gar- nish with additional candy.
