Wine-Basted Pork Loaf For 4 to 6 servings you will need: 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground pork 1 small french roll 1/4 cup milk 1/4 cup minced onion 1 small carrot, grated 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. mustard 1/2 tsp. dried theyme leaves 1 egg, slightly beaten For Wine Baste: 1 Tbsp. melted butter 4 Tbsp. dry white wine Directions 1. Place ground pork in mixing bowl. Shred french roll into small bits. Moisten with milk. Add to meat with the remaining ingredients. 2. With a spoon or hands, lightly mix mixture until evenly blended. 3. Shape into a roll, about 10 inches long. Place on a rack in a roasting pan. Brush with some of wine baste. 4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 1 hour and 10 minutes until crusty. Continue to baste while baking. 5. Remove from oven. Serve hot with a pan gravy or serve room temperature as a summer night supper.
