KING ARTHUR FLOUR'S ORIGINAL "CAKE
PAN" CAKE
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar
6 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 c. cold water, coffee or milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. Measure all dry ingredients into an 8" or 9" square pan. Blend together 
thoroughly
with fork and scoop out 3 holes or indentations.
2. Pour vanilla into first hole, the vinegar into the second and the vegetable 
oil
into the third.
3. Pour the cup of cold liquid directly over everything. Stir all ingredients 
together
with a fork until well blended.
4. Bake 25 to 40 minutes. Warm from the oven, the cake is wonderful with ice 
cream
or with a big glass of milk.  Enjoy.
