OUR PETITION AT KOLA NOW GOES DIRECT TO CLINTON'S FAX & E-MAIL ! http://kola-hq.hypermart.net/actlp.htm _________ Well people, it seems that it is now crunch time for POW Leonard Peltier. By January 20, Bill Clinton will decide whether or not Leonard will recieve executive clemency. And personally, I believe that his chances are good. The state finally allowed him to have the much needed jaw surgery last year, which could mean that they realised too many people knew of his bad jaw and if he was ever released, the state would be awfully embarrassed. Clinton may also want to decide at the very end of his term in office because lets face it, he's damned if he does release him and he's damned if he doesn't. I don't think he would want his successful 8 years in office to be tarnished by the idea that he kept a person in prison who has been in jail because of a trial that was mishandled, racist, based largely on frabricated evidence, etc. Millions of supporters world wide will remember him in this way, including such humanitarians as Nelson Mandela, the late Mother Theresa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mary Robinson (the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) and many others. The daeth of Agents Coler and Williams is undoubtably sad. However, Peltier has spent over 25 years in prison for a crime he did not committ because the FBI needed a scapegoat. They needed an Indian, they couldn't convict Butler and Robideau (who were found not guilty by reason of self defence,) so they dropped charges against Jimmy Eagle (who they could not fabricate enough strong evidence against) and focused on Leonard Peltier, "they always get their man." Please pass this on to those concerned about human rights, even if you think they might have already recieved this. Liam N.
