>From Christine Howes NATIONAL ABORIGINAL & ISLANDER DAY OF CELEBRATION (NAIDOC) Thursday 8th July 10am -2pm Evandale Grounds, Gold Coast City Council. 135 Bundall Rd, Bundall. You are invited to share in the fun and excitement of the day. See: - a corroboree lead by local dancers - well over 1300 school students join in one of the largest snake dances ever - tree planting by elders- the start of a healing garden - story telling - didgeridoo playing - local artwork - indigenous sports - help paint a 100 metre mural - displays of community groups & organisations - and much more. The opening ceremony starts at 10am, dancing and activities will continue throughout the day. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Can you spare some time? Help is required for the following jobs: SETTING UP: 8AM TILL 9:30AM GUIDES FOR THE SCHOOL GROUPS: 9:30 TILL 2:00PM (or part of that time) PACKING UP: 1:30PM TILL 3:00PM ORGANISING THE DAY BEFORE OR AFTER GENERAL HELPERS We already have a number of people to help out, but the more who pitch in the easier the load, and the more fun for all!
