"Acts of Genocide" action struck out by Supreme Court

The Supreme Court in Adelaide has struck out a statement of claim by a representative of the Arubunna aboriginal people, who is attempting to sue the head of WMC for acts of genocide.

Aboriginal elder, Kevin Buzzaccott, is suing WMC's Managing Director, Hugh Morgan, over the effects the mining of Arabunna lands, in the north of the State, has had on his people.

Justice Bleby today gave Mr Buzzacott two months in which to issue an amended statement of claim.

The Arabunna lands house WMC's new $1.94 billion Olympic Dam expansions, opened earlier this year.
