I think that as a general description of "white European society" the Mike
Carlton passage selected by Neil is accurate.
There are of course , at all times, a minority of people within that society
who do not fit the general description, but I think that the society as a
whole does----as evidenced by the diabolical outcomes of much of the
activities of the majority of ''white European society " .
As a group ,we have been greedy,ruthless and savagely cruel in dealing with
less powerful people both within and without said society.
Locally, it is people like Howard who are intent on keeping us in the
ill-formed state described by Carlton to advance their own pathetic
''narrow political self -interest".
As a Society, I believe that the "Carlton Cap" fits-----If we feel as
individuals that the cap doesn't fit, we had better make sure we work harder
to change our Society ,despite the best efforts of barbarians like Howard
,Herron, Hanson, Brunton ,Burke etc.etc.to retain it in it's present
ignominious state.
