What a line, eh, Trudy? The King of Capricornia (great line, Jim) speaketh.

On the subject of the Burke - can someone explain to me the effect of the
'new' mandatory sentencing stuff (Howard's latest smoke and mirrors)?
Police now must divert juveniles to diversionary programs right? Does this
happen before or after a trial? If before, doesn't that mean they are being
found guilty without a trial? And then, if you refused 'diversion' on the
grounds of innocence (shock horror), would you then be forced to court and
thus subject to the same mandatory rules? Would diversion then not be an
option? In short, if this is right, doesn't that mean things have got worse
(found guilty without a trial) rather than better?

Also - what does Howard put in the water when people visit him at the Lodge?
Harradine, Ridgeway, the Democrats, the backbench 'rebels' and now the ATSIC
board all come of there full of praise, and yet the man himself never seems
to change or give an inch. Go in for dinner, come out eating from his hand.
Or so it seems.
