To the South Sydney City Council
I strongly object to the restrictions you are trying to impose on the
Victoria Park Tent
Embassy.
It is an obvious extension of PM Howard's callous and panicky attempt to
silence the voice of Aboriginal protest at the Olympics.
If it is not, it is just petty-minded backyard politicking comparable to
ordinances like "Don't Walk on the Grass", in total ignorance of the
larger
issues like the genocide of the people who own the land "your" park is
on.
It was violently taken from them at the cost of uncountable lives, yet
small-minded suburbanites want to stop those few left from telling the
story. Have you no vision of where you want our country to go? Big
politics
starts in the suburbs.
Shame, shame, shame!
We will make sure the entire world's press picks this up and really puts
that part of Sydney on the world map - as a blot of ignominy!
In a way, you're doing us all a favour because you're showing the world
what
White Australia is about. How much under siege you must all feel from
2.5%
of the population!
