Canberra joins Aboriginal
peace march

Canberra residents have joined a peace march
supporting Aboriginal rights which is currently
making its way to the tent embassy outside Old
Parliament House.

The march started more than 10 weeks ago in
South Australia.

Activists, church leaders and MLA Kerry Tucker
are among those taking part in the march which is
now making its way across the Commonwealth
bridge.

The group of more than 50 people is carrying
secret fires of peace to the tent embassy where a
ceremony will be held.

It left the shores of Lake Eyre on June 10 and will
continue their march to Sydney in time for the
Olympic Games.
